2008: A Year of Awards In Review
By Tristan Downe-Dewdney
As the year comes to an end, everyone at Elite Care is proud to look back on a year of achievements, challenges overcome, and new opportunities. It is the appreciation of our many families that means more to us than anything else - both for our business and for ourselves. 2008 has been an especially outstanding blessing for all the members of the Elite Care team as we review the critical acclaim and the awards that have been granted to us. No less than four awards were granted to us, and we wanted to take a moment to note our thanks, as well as our commitment to the future.
This year, Elite Care Canada was recognized by Durham Parent in their Readers Choice Awards with the Platinum rating as the Best Nanny Agency of 2008. Our ability to reach out to Durham, like so many communities across Canada has been significant, as more and more families learn about our agency from one another. Durham represents just one of these hubs where we have seen our business blossom and have had that pleasure reciprocated.
Although based out of Toronto, Elite Care is enjoying its first year as a Toronto Sun silver-winner in their own Readers Choice Awards. The honor is doubly flattering, as the title was granted even without a separate childcare category having been included. Our families were adamant, however, and the Sun added us as the number one caregiver agency recognized by their readers.
Earlier in the year, one of the great authorities on childcare, City Parent, also granted Elite Care the Best Nanny Agency award in their Readers Choice Awards. Being such a broad-based and widely read magazine, we have been very proud to represent such diversity. This award, perhaps more than any other, underscores just how viable the live-in caregiver option has become for parents of many different backgrounds. Even in these financially harder times, many have been overjoyed to find out that they can, in fact, reduce their costs through the live-in caregiver program while enjoying one of the most exciting, and positive, childcare opportunities available.
Lastly, the year would be complete without the recognition of the Canadian Caregivers Association (CCA) and this year’s Top Choice Award. This is the fifth consecutive year that the CCA has granted Elite Care Canada the prestigious title of Canada’s number one caregiver agency. No one can deny the importance of balancing responsibilities and ensuring that everyone in the caregiver relationship receives a quality of assistance and attention that is of the highest standard. Another name in commercial standards, the Top Choice Awards have long stood for best business practices. As their Top Nanny Service winner for 2008, we take pride in setting a new standard for excellence.
Four major awards and the blessing of the CCA would not, and could not, be possible without the blessing of our customers from coast-to-coast, and the trust they have put in us now and for the future. Our commitments remain steadfast and our resolve reinforced. We will move forward with the initiative that has been recognized so widely this past year, as we reach out to new families and new communities. 2008, with its awards and successes would not have been possible without the widespread approval and acclaim of the families that make out business possible. Our thanks goes out to all Elite Care Canada’s families, for the votes that have brought us so much recognition over the years, and for the role you have played in making our business both a successful and proud one.
